Two at $3,000 each
April 10, 2018
The Scholarship is awarded based on the following criteria that includes your High School Grade Point Average, your community service experience and the quality and content of an essay.
APPLYING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
Students interested in applying for the Scholarship should do so through their school office, and should write a brief essay that describes their experience in high school, performance of community service, if any, expression of financial need and comments about your hopes for the future and career aspirations. The essay should be in 12 font, double-spaced and on single sided pages.
Include a cover page with name, phone number and e-mail address and physical address with your uploaded essay application. Do not put your name or school name anywhere in your actual essay. This is to keep the judges from knowing who submitted the essays—to make the process anonymous and fair.
A committee of the Hispanic American Foundation will make the selection of the scholarship recipient from the group of candidates. The candidate(s) must be a 2018 graduating senior. Essays, applications and transcripts should be submitted on line, or in the alternative, if a student prefers to submit this information in writing, please do so by mailing it to HISPANIC AMERICAN FOUNDATION, 2210 S. MAIN ST., TULSA, OK 74114.
The candidate selected will be notified directly by the Hispanic American Foundation office, using contact information provided with the application. The winning student’s school will be notified as well.
When the Hispanic American Foundation office receives notification that the scholarship winner has been accepted and has enrolled in a college or university, a check in the amount of $3,000.00 will be issued to the college or university that the winner will be attending, on behalf of the scholarship winner.
School offices must forward their application and criteria selection(s) to the Hispanic American Foundation by April 2, 2018. Final selection will be made, and the winner notified in April. The student will be asked to attend the Hispanic Student Luncheon and Career Fair to be recognized.
If you have any questions, please contact the Hispanic American Foundation at 918-584-3333 Ext. 2 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
